About us

Outfit was founded in a coffee shop in Brooklyn, NY, by long-time collaborators Ansley Pentz and Megan Magray.

We are united in the following beliefs:

  • Our north star is organizational independence. We will fill your tackle box with all you need to succeed, show you the best fishing spots, and ultimately, send you on your merry way to do great work — we’ll be cheering you on.
  • Creative processes need not be complicated or overwrought.
  • Technology is an incredible tool for organization and management, but it is only as effective as we are. Tools must work for people or they lose their value.
  • Email lists are gold. Unlike social media (still important!), organizations own email contacts — no algorithms, no changing rules for interaction. Just direct connection.
  • Print is necessary, and oft-overlooked in our digital world. Our workspaces and neighborhoods are where we spend most of our time. They should be more interesting, more meaningful. Beacons of light in a commercialized age.
  • Jargon has a place, and that place isn’t here. (We’ll always tell you exactly what we mean.)
  • The how is just as important as the what and the why. We are detail-oriented people who believe in efficient, clear processes.
  • Recognizing our shared humanity is the only way we will succeed. Audiences should be connected with purposefully, and the relationships we have with our clients will always be intentional, supportive and encouraging.

Ansley Pentz, Co-Founder
Ansley untangles complex systems, builds sound processes and delivers clarity. Exceptionally organized, Ansley brings analytical, level-headed project management and communications strategy to Outfit. When you’re at your wits' end — because a deadline needs to be met fast, or you’re spending three hours fiddling in Mailchimp every week to send out one newsletter, or you can’t seem to move that one pesky task from Point A to Point B — Ansley is the person you call.

Megan Magray, Co-Founder
Megan is an art director and designer who lives for the big picture and the tiny details. Always aiming to deliver work that is splashy, thoughtful, and beautiful, Megan’s style is rooted in a deep knowledge of — and respect for — the archives. Her work is driven by the belief that structured, intelligent design is fundamental to effective communication, cognitive accessibility and ultimately, good decision-making.
